AP Psychology Summer Reading Assignment
Welcome to AP Psychology! To prepare for the class, you’ll be required to complete a summer reading assignment that will enhance your knowledge of psychology, increase your interest, and prepare you for the level of material in this class.
Your summer reading book is Opening Skinner's Box: Great Psychological Experiments of the Twentieth Century by Lauren Slater. There will be a test, on a date to be announced, given in class within one week of the start of the new school year. But be ready as soon as we return! You can find this book in local libraries, book stores, and online retailers. Students are responsible for getting the book for themselves. See below for sources. Each chapter discusses a famous psychologist and one his or her most influential studies, so I highly recommend that you take notes as you read. This might include outlining the chapters, summarizing the main points of each chapter in a good paragraph, etc. All of this will make studying for the test vastly easier and more productive!
